About The Author

Elaina was born into this world on October 16. Her name means light, or torch, and her middle name, Grace, speaks for itself. She knows that her purpose in life is to be a light unto others reflecting the brightest light of all, Jesus Christ as well as showing others the grace that God has shown her. She was prophesied over at nine years old to not stop writing when she had gone up to the front asking for prayer to be closer to God. She has been writing ever since. Elaina grew up with her two older sisters, Elyse and Erika, and her younger brother, Evan. Elaina was also blessed with caring parents who brought her up in the ways of the Lord, not to say that she didn't have her issues and struggles.

Her mom has been a stay at home mom most of her life and her dad has been a children's pastor at Zion Christian Church since she was born. When Elaina originally created this blog back in 2011 it was titled "Diary of a Church Kid". She was going to focus on talking about the struggles church kids go through today, but has branched into writing pragmatic, life applicable poetry and lessons she has learned and is in the process of learning. She has a passion for the urban culture, yearning to dig deep and plant seeds of love and change into the heart of the city and its residents in the name of Jesus.

She lives in the ghetto burbs outside of Detroit, though her heart stays in the inner city. She spends her spare time on the weekends feeding the homeless and exploring the streets of the D. She loves to write and create everything from paintings to jewelry. Her trophy is an ever growing library of journals and she enjoys learning new things. Elaina is very cautious about those who teach things that are not in accordance to God's Word. She has endured a lot of pain in her life only by letting God be her strength; and because of this, she writes from a perspective that is centered on Him alone.
